My dog (who's name is "Luna", btw...) likes listening to OL's music. I think she associates it with going on a road-trip, since an OL CD is the first to go into the player when we leave. She notices the little sounds like birds singing, and that rooster crow from Opium.

There are definitely CD's that I listen to more than others, but if I had to give up any of my OL cd's, I don't think I could part with any of them! They are all connected to different parts of my life (happy and sad), and I make new memories all the time while listening to them. Of course, whenever I'm cruising around Santa Fe (like I did last Saturday) I MUST have an OL CD in the player!

I have to think about this to figure out 8 songs. I mean, it's impossible cause there are so many wonderful songs, so I just have to DECIDE. What I can say is this: the very first song I heard was BOMBAY + I was stunned from the first moment on. Very special this song for me. (I was reading Salman Rushdie's Midnight Children about that time too, so my head was in Bombay those days alright.)

hum......maybe the question should be: which is your favourite song AT THE MOMENT. There are so many beautiful melodies on all OLs CDs that you can't make it down to 7 or 8. This morning I woke up + went to the baker with "Bluedreamdrops" from the Opium-Dreaming-CD in my head. The melody hasn't left yet, really amazing.....it makes me feeling peace + love without sticking it to a certain person.

Men, Adam, you gave me a tough time chosing songs + made me a bad conscience for leaving most behind.... Will you offer a continuation of this thread once the poll is open? And update it every now and then? It should be nice to have this category permanently. Imagine: you wake up in the morning + have a melody on your mind. It doesn't leave the whole day. So you think: hey, I should add this to the poll! Other things that came to my mind: I haven't looked up the previous posts (very lazy I am), but has somebody voted for Barcelona Nights? What I mean is: this should be the tune that is most known. A lot of people know the tune but don't know that it's from OL, I suppose. Here in Germany e.g. you hear it regularly on whatever travel report about Spain etc. So, this song is so well known that nobody really feels a need to vote for it anymore.... Then: you started this unfair poll , so why not open up another one for Favourite Album....and Favourite Christmas Album (once 1001 Christmas Songs is out) ;D Just to throw in some ideas, clever or not..... Finally the songs I chose: As I already voted for: Bombay + Bluedreamdrops. I may be the only one voting for some song like the last one, but it should represent all those shorter ("following" Orwell's 4 rules!) but very beautiful songs OL composed (like Ayer - el ultimo dia de palabra or Querencia). The rest I add without comment: Morning Arrival in Goa, Lone Rider/Buddha's Flower, Tangos de Tesuque, Yasmeen, Duende del Amor, Surrender 2 Love/Surrender II, Morning Sky, Funky Poet, Desert Elysium, In the arms of love + Dreaming on the starlight train. Now I go home + feel ashamed for not mentioning the rest......
