Matt -- Actually, my mom can't quite figure out this "internet thing." She's a few decades behind in the technology department -- has never even used an ATM. So no warnings from her about "crossing state lines with strange men you meet on the internet." So does that mean you were just kidding about chauffering me back and forth to Colorado? Adam and Penny will be so disappointed!

Carolynn,
I actually think it would be a great little adventure. I haven't been to New Mexico or Colorado yet. I wish I had the time to make the trip. I haven't even tried to calculate the cost for gas from Phoenix to ABQ to Boulder and back again. The cost of my weekly commute is starting to hurt.
Next tour, we need to have OL set the Santa Fe date early so all of us dedicated fans can get together.

Matt -- Now that's a plan! I wish this SF concert date would have been set earlier for this tour so I could have avoided the grief that I put myself and my friends thru(but I won't bore you any longer with that discussion!).
Yes, as I was trying to figure out the cost of the drive from here to Boulder, I was getting a bit concerned! I hope gas prices find their way back down soon so we won't have to take out a loan for future road trips!
Adam, sorry! Penny hates to be in her pet carrier, though, so she's not TOO disappointed!

An OL show in an amphitheatre in Santa Fe....that'd made me think about coming too.....I'd need a helping hand with the ticket then.....okay, I should start calculating the costs seriously now....
Carolynn -- wasn't aware about the fact that the Boulder concert was only 2 days b4 the one in SF. Of course that's a bit too demanding. I should take a look on a map first to see which town actually is where exactly. Lack of imagination about the distances I have. Was the same in Russia. Next big town when you take the train in Khabarovsk is Wladiwostok, which is 800km south. In Germany, when having crossed the same distance, you're nearly at the other side of the country and passed a lot of worlds in between.... (doesn't mean that there aren't a lot of different worlds in Primorje, just speaking about the next large city)

Boris -- The amphitheatre in Santa Fe is nice. I like it better than the other (outdoor) venue that OL played at in Albuquerque last year. It is more cozy and intimate.
The driving distances in the SW United States can be quite large. Lots more open space than on the East Coast. Trying to hit both of those concerts in two days would be way too much for me. As it is, Santa Fe is an hour drive from where I live in Albuquerque. But I'll be listening to La Semana while driving!

Yeah! We should all get together...not even in SF, we'll do it this tour! How about, say...New York? Not out of any convenience for me, it's just at a good time for all of us And Carolynn, don't leave Penny at home, she deserves to see OL in the Big Apple!

Does this venue appear in the web somewhere? The amphitheatre, I mean. I was looking for some good books about Santa Fe, New Mexico, maybe Colorado, just to get some images to the things I learn when reading the blog (or the forum, take Matt + the surprisingly disappeared Naomi talking about the smell of the desert). But I haven't found any. Once I ordered a tourist information prospect from SF which was quite informative but had not so many pictures about the towns, the landscape, etc. Fortunately I found one private web page where I finally was able to see farolitos... When you look for books here, you mainly get those overall tourist guides (like, the western part of the US). But that's not what I want. Any suggestions? Books I could order, tourist info I could get, web pages I could visit?

Boris,
Good books on the southwest are tough to find. You need to have some true photographic skill to capture the feel of the desert. Most pictures are too small to convey the experience. The desert is emotional as well as visual. I'll keep you in mind the next time I hit the bookstore and browse the selection.
I don't know if you can find it, but the movie "Geronimo -An American Legend" does a fantastic job of capturing the west on film. The cinematography is fantastic, you can feel the desert while watching this movie. The story is'nt bad either.

Boris -- I will also keep you in mind if I run across anything interesting in books about the Southwest. Actually, it would be cool to find a "scratch and sniff" book. I wish I could convey the smell of the desert after it rains. (We had a wicked thunder storm early this evening that dropped a bit of rain.) As for web-sites, try www.santafe.org. They have links to lots of other sites from there, plus you could probably order some tourist info that would include maps and stuff. I tried to find some info on the amphitheater, but failed.

Mannoooo.... Ole wrote that he listened to La Semana a million times and me.... I wish he would feel for writing a review about the concert he attended here but obviously + unfortunately he doesn't.... As you can see, I'm still waiting for the CDs to arrive. We have too much rain here. Can I say that? No, I can't. No floodings in my town as during the previous years, but no summer either. It's very humide, makes you sweat easily, feeling uncomfortable. I wish I could pass on the rain for some hours... you get a very very slight idea how it must feel in the jungle. Thank you all for the recommendations! Yes, just tell me if you see a book or something similar. It's not the whole enchilada, as Ottmar would say, but it could give me an idea. santafe.org I knew. They indeed have a lot of links I haven't explored yet. I already ordered some tourist info from that site. No good pics in it but maybe it's just not possible, as Matt said. But very useful information. Some things that are interesting to know. Tesuque is a town! Not longer than 2 years ago I asked Spanish friends of mine what it could mean + they had no clue. Chama is another town near SF (it has nothing to do with Karma, though ). Driving 2 Madrid doesn't necessarily mean the capital of Spain + finally there's Galisteo, as well in the neighbourhood of SF... Well, I know all of this 4 a while now but I have to admit that it took me some time to realize...

Can somebody tell about the palmas in the show? Who's doing them if they do them? Because on La Semana there's a lot of hand-clapping. Wondering how to play Cocteau/Underworld without. Maybe Ron + Robbie?
