I have Jesse Cook's "Vertigo" CD. Great CD a little old now. I could swear I meant to buy Tempest (or maybe I did buy it and have it in the basement someplace.) On 2 occassions I ended up buying the same CD twice. I hate when that happens.

I have Tempest and Gravity. They are good, but I don't listen to them very much.

I'm obsessed with Steely Dan. I'm willing to bet I'm not the only one here with an appreciation for their cool grooves...

I got Gravity and Tempest .. I would say they are pretty good cd's but still something missing from them for me to put them in the cd player . I did pick up the new Paco de lucia cd , I should be getting that in the mail soon . Another flamenco artist you might be intersted in is Marc Rizzo ... You can visit his site at www.marcrizzo.com It's a younger expression for sure . Other than that I try to pick up other Flamenco artist but find that I don't listen to them much .... My favorite bands are Cave In and Ottmar Liebert and Tortoise ....

Hi, Adam. I have "Vertigo", "Wednesday Night At Eric's" is one of my favourites. The album was recommended by a guy from the CD shop, where I often visit. He also introduced me Rodrigo y Gabriela's CD "Re-foc", this is good, too. Have you ever heard of them?

Can't say I have, sorry, but I'm willing to give it a listen! I'm much less into Jesse now than I once was...the pick is pretty annoying, and he just takes a catchy riff and embellishes it. I think he doesn't play with a lot of feeling, or make his songs multi-layered, like OL.

I agree, Adam, about "feeling". OL's music is... eh, I don't know how to explain... eh, so natural, so close to your heart, or... it's like...you feel his music just as you feel your heartbeat ..... Agh, my vocaburary is not rich enough (even in my mother tongue!), I hope you understand what I mean...

there are pros and cons to playing with a pick and playing with fingers. Jesse uses both. Personally, I think Jesse's technique is second to none.
