amazon sucks ... Ah, well, no, not. Where would I be without the possibility to order via amazon? It's just that I checked some schtuff from the Silk Road Project and passed along La Semana and saw that the US version of amazon (the german version: no) has its own field where you can recommend another album that you find better. Somebody suggested an album by Tia Knight to be a better buy than La Semana. Don't know this Tia Knight. Name sound like the one of a p*** ***** but please: proof me wrong. So what's this woman's music got to do with OL's style? Maybe somebody could please say that Paris Hilton singing would be a better buy!?! Anyway, I don't like this feature.

Yeah, it's not bad enough that Amazon allows spam reviews but now that feature for recommending an album "instead of"... So you go and listen to the other album thinking maybe it's something you would like and it turns out to be a totally different style. What a waste of time!! (Not to mention the fact that it gives people like Mehdi another way to trick people into looking at their stuff.)
Speaking of Mehdi - I had kind of given up on my keeping track of his spam count, but this subject made me go and take another look. His spam reviews at Amazon are now at around 103 - this is up from 74 about 1 month ago. However, if you Google "thanks for the introduction to mehdi" you now only get 843 hits which is way down from about 1880 a month ago. I have no explanation. All I can say is that Amazon obviously is not cleaning out the spam reviews that have been brought to their attention. I'm not sure if other review sites are "cleaning house" or if Google just isn't picking them up for some reason.

Had a little discussion with amazon-Germany. They offer a vinyl that's called "Wide-eyed & Dreaming". I thought: a vinyl? That cannot be. That's the DVD. Or maybe Opium on vinyl? Or is it Matt Callahan's newest album ... ? OL meant that it could be a laser disc of the live show featured in the DVD but no other possibility. So I emailed amazon. First time in vain, second time I found a valid email adress. Got the response some weeks later. It goes that it's no amazon offer, that somebody tries to sell an item via amazon and that amazon cannot verify if it's right what is offered. They simply let it in. Isn't that strange? Where is the sense? You tell them that it's something non-existent but they don't care! I mean, wouldn't the actual seller be interested in selling the right item?
