About one year ago, Ottmar Liebert published La Semana (it says June 8th in the music catalog on his own web site). So time to see what our impressions are being accompagnied by that fabulous album for one year. Are your favourites from the beginning still the same? Or has a particular song grown on you? This morning after a long time I took the car again which is an Audi A6 (I normally go by train to work). I put La Semana in and rode the hills with "Caballada" on. I just love that song! I did that often last fall, going by car, fast (hey, I'm German! , and it always was cool to hear the horses going wild. So today I thought about what my top 3 of La Semana are. No conditions. Name three, I told myself. So I had to leave "Caballada" out under immense pain. And these are mine: Cocteau Spring Rain Echoes of a caress What are yours? Name only three. Make your choice. Decide. Go.

For me it's "Caballada" from the very first time I heard the album. I always skip to track 4 & then back to 1 and let it play in order from then on.
now the next 2 are more difficult:
Caipira Underworld

The whole CD still blows me away, especially when listening with headphones. It's all so beautiful. JustMe, if you get the limited edition box your favorites just might change slightly. My favorites are easy to remember on both editions: 4, 8, and 12. The LE box has an extra song #12 called Market Day. The vocals sound like a blend of Native American chant and a flamenco cantaor. So I guess I really can't narrow it down to three after all.

...listening to La Luna right now and it still brings a tear to my eye!

I still remember calling home and finding out that the limited edition version of La Semana had arrived. I went home at lunch, burned a copy, and went back to work and listened for the rest of the day.
For me, this CD works as a collection of emotions. Picking a favorite is tough. Picking three is only a bit easier.
Cocteau makes the list, as it was our “sneak peek” into the masterpiece. I have no idea how many times I played that song on the computer before the CD was released.
La Luna is a song I knew I’d like as soon as I read the title. My youngest daughter has referred to the moon as “Luna” for as long as I can remember and I think of her when I hear the song.
My last pick is Evening. Reading from Ottmar’s notes on the limited edition, “the sound of a guitar coming from an open window on the second floor: rich, soft, delicate…”

A favorite? Impossible! On La Semana, especially. Easily OL's most "complete" album.
