Some of us have admitted in other spots on the forum to being fans of other rock bands. If anyone is interested in sharing, I thought I would start a spot for that.
I will start by sharing that I like Soundgarden, Audioslave, (and any other band or solo project Chris Cornell would care to take part in), and I also like Incubus. I think Linkin Park puts out some really cool music too.
Anyone else?

Dios mio, I'm getting old. Never heard of Audioslave and incubus. I always was a fan of the Chilis, not at all like Adam, just have bought the two main albums. I have a funny Chili story to tell - personal experience with their music -, but this I do on another day. Gotta think about rock bands. Have you heard that someone has stolen U2's new album out of the studio?

Boris, Incubus + Audioslave are one of the few popular rock bands who are actually good...lol....Incubus has been around for quite a while, and Audioslave is a fairly new band, the brainchild of members of (I believe) Rage Against the Machine and Soundgarden.

Liz -- Ooooh, heavy! You are really rockin'! I started my career as a strange bird with the Stones. I was then, I think, 8 or so. The kids in my class had never heard of them... My favorite bands/artists are.... as I confessed earlier XXXX (alright Adam, you are so sexy!) Yankees, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Aerosmith, ZZ top, Popa Chubby, Keb Mo...... and more. They are mostly so-called "classic rock" (right?) and blues(y) bands. I consider flamenco as a kind of Spanish blues, so there is a strong link here. I like Metalica, too, although "Metalica" is the only album I have. "Enter Sandman" was once my wake-up track. By the way, I read in the paper a few days ago that AC/DC has now their own street (=named after the band) in their home country. Here in Holland we have streets like Frank Zappa Street, Jimi Hendrix Lane, The Rolling Stones Drive, Duke Ellington Square..... Wouldn't it be cool if you lived in Ottmar Liebert Avenu?

Ottmar Liebert Alameda, it should be. Yes, very cool. Every house would be different, interestingly built. Houses by Rem Koolhaas (very expensive) + Adobe architecture (in the NL!), houses designed by OL himself maybe. Audioslave sounds good. RATM + Soundgarden where extremely popular here 8-9 years ago. I still adore the early tracks of ZZ Top. "Brown Sugar", "La Grange" until "Cheap Sunglasses" of course. But I haven't listened to them for years. I liked NIN -- the texts. But that was the time when "7" was in the cinemas. Lately it's all OL, Zona Bastarda (from Barcelona, Manu Chao, Ojos de Brujo etc.), different kind of guitarrists like Vicente Amigo. Well, OL was always there + has never gone away since I discovered his music in 1995.

Alright ladies and gentlemen, who has heard of Morphine? Joe Satriani got me through the late eighties and early ninties. Morphine carried me through to 1999 when their lead singer and bass player died. I still listen to both.
I liked the David Lee Roth era Van Halen but stopped listening when the became Van Haggar. I still break out some of the old stuff from time to time. I even have my originals on vinyl. Those were big, plastic discs that music used to come on Adam. ;D

Well, I haven't heard of Morphine but I have heard of Joe Satriani. Talk about oldies...how about Chicago. The Best of Chicago replaced La Semana in my car stereo today...but not for long. Have had an emotional weekend of sorts and music from OL & Hours Between Day and Night is helping to heal my soul.

You knew, Adam? That's surprising me a bit... Are you sure you're talking about vinyl?
Morphine reminds me of the books of Boulgakov + of Opium, of course. Luz' comment reminds of healing again. Soul treatment. I use Opium's Dreaming for it.
As Luz, same with me. Have heard of Joe Satriani. Had a CD once, liked it, but don't have it anymore.

Matt -- For me, Van Halen = David Lee Roth (well, of course, the nice, Dutch speaking, smiley Eddy was there, too). Adam -- You know what vinyl is, hmmm, you're not as bad as I thought.... The whole world seems to be convinced that a CD is much, much, far more better than a vinyl, there are only a few people who are still hanging on to that good old big, (not always) black thing. Well, Don't ask how or why... I have, at the monent, about 5000 (or maybe more) LPs (yes, vinyl) in the basement in my house. I'm not an audio freak or something, I don't have to argue about the sound quality etc. (some poeple say vinyl sounds better). There are a lot of albums, though, which I do prefer to have on vinyl....or acturally, I'd like have them both on a CD and vinyl. A CD is just so easy (no need to turn it round!), an LP is so..., dunno, nostalgic... maybe it's a ritual-thing. But we all agree, I think, that some covers (jackets) are really a beutiful work of art, and a CD box is just too small for that.

I agree with Kiyomi on the cover art for vinyl. I think that whole medium worked better for cover art. And I also liked it when there were pictures of the band and/or song lyrics on the record case inside. I just have a few vinyl records left. I bought all of my brother's Police albums when he wanted to sell them at a garage sale. (Another great rock band, BTW! ) I'll never tell what the other albums are! (Just know that they were accumulated during the 80's! )

I have a rock project myself. Its name is Living Tissue. We play modern hard rock, Like Stone Temple Pilots and that sort of thing.
I'll have to say that my all time favorite rock band is King's X. But I also listen to Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Deep Purple and Rush.
As far as modern bands go, I really like Breaking Benjamin, FuManchu, Shine Down and Audioslave.
I think that this rap metal junk is really scaping the bottom of the barrel. But that is just me.
